Daily Photo: Castle Mountain

Today’s photo is of Castle Mountain in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. The Bow River is flowing by in the foreground. As always, let me know if you would like to enjoy any of my photos on your desktop or wall. And if you like it, why not ‘like’ it on Facebook below the photo.

Daily Photo: Old Faithful

Today’s photo is from Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. Old Faithful erupts roughly every 90 minutes and draws a huge crowd. This geyser can erupt with a fountain higher than 55m into the air. A fun fact about Old Faithful:

Old Faithful is sometimes degraded by being made a laundry. Garments placed in the crater during quiescence are ejected thoroughly washed when the eruption takes place. Gen. Sheridan’s men, in 1882, found that linen and cotton fabrics were uninjured by the action of the water, but woolen clothes were torn to shreds. — Winser, Henry J. (1883). Caught In The Act

I got back from Big Camp yesterday after a great week. It was a very wet week with plenty of rain, but I still managed to get sunburnt on the one morning of sun. In the evening meetings, our speaker, Iki Taimi, presented a number of quality sermons. I’ll be sure to talk about them in the coming weeks. He presented his stuff in a great way and challenged us to step up to the ‘jump zone’ and take the leap.

Today I’ve got a post about the story at the beginning of John 8 – the woman caught in adultery and some photos from Mesa Verde, Colorado. I’ve also got a new section for you: Music. I’ll be recommending individual songs or albums every week, and linking you to them on iTunes. Another thing you may be interested in if you are interested in this blog: My Shared Items from Google Reader. Add this to your RSS feeds to see what I’m reading about and liking enough to share. Daily Photo: Grand Reflections

I’ve decided to add to my WordPress Weekly and post a photo a day for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday as well. Most of the time it will just be the photo, although it may have a short description or the story behind the photo. Enjoy the first week’s shots. Of course, if you would like to enjoy this every time you look at your computer, leave a comment and I may be able to put a bigger size on the desktop wallpapers page.
