With Christmas just around the corner, the festive season is well under way and the shopping centre’s are buzzing with activity. At this time of year many spend a little too much on things that they hope will make someone else happy. Many people celebrate December 25 with their families by thanking Santa Claus for the joy and peace that has descended on their home for a short while. And only a relatively small number of people will remember and ponder upon the real reason behind Christmas.
Over 2010 years ago Christ was born in Bethlehem as a Saviour to the world. As this busy time of year passes us by, let us not forget that He came on a mission. He set us an example and has a personal mission for each one of us. Reflect on the passage from Isaiah below and take note of the names ‘He will be called’.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. — Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
Don’t forget about my new blog. This is the last bit of writing I’ll be posting here at karljames.wordpress.com. All future musings and photographs will appear on my new portfolio and blog webspace found at karllindsay.com. For those who have email subscriptions here, I have taken the liberty of transferring them over. If you haven’t subscribed and would like to read more in the future, or no longer wish to hear from me, which I hope that is not the case, you can edit your subscription information at karllindsay.com/blog/subscriptions.
You may or may not have noticed a lack of content on here over the last few weeks. There is a good reason for it. And today, I can announce what exactly that is. Over the last few weeks I’ve been working on a new website. Read the full post to see why I’m moving and where I’m moving to! Continue reading
I received an email from RedBubble this afternoon letting me know that everything I have for sale there is marked down by 15%. Just use the coupon code K-Lindsay_is_on_sale_4170 at the checkout. Depending on the item you purchase, the free shipping code FREEPAUL may get you a better deal. I know for the calendar, it is cheaper with the FreePaul code.
The K-Lindsay… code is valid until November 14 and I’m not sure how long the FreePaul code will last so check it out now. Sorry this wasn’t available to someone who has already made a purchase. Thanks for buying though! I’m sure you will be happy.
It seems I wasn’t able to keep up the WordPress Weekly for too long. I skipped out on blogging last week. I hope my thoughts were missed by some, but I just had too much to do. This week is no different really, but I wanted to post something. I’ve kind of made up for last week with this post because it’s so long… I hope you have the time to read it all. I probably won’t get around to posting a daily photo for the rest of this week but we’ll see how we go. Don’t forget to check out what I’m reading on the web here: My Shared Items from Google Reader. Add this to your RSS feeds to see what I’m reading about and liking enough to share. Speaking of sharing, if you like what you’ve read, don’t forget to press one of the share buttons at the bottom of the post!
The photo of the day is from the Mt Baker / Mt Shuksan area in Washington State, USA. This is at Picture Lake, but not the traditional view you see from this location. This is mainly because the water wasn’t still enough as well as me wanting to get a ‘non-cliché’ photo too.
You may have seen this photo before (here), but I have drastically improved it since, so do enjoy the new version…
