After many months of planning the time has finally come. However, the last few days of organising have been a little more hectic than expected due to some unforeseen circumstances. Dad broke his arm last week in an unfortunate sport accident. The head of his left radius is slightly fractured and there is the risk of it separating from the rest of the bone. He has an appointment with a specialist tomorrow, and hopefully will get the necessary surgery the next day. It seems the family has not had any relief from sporting injury’s in the last couple of years.
We have booked him a flight out on Thursday night and he will fly into San Francisco. We’ll pick him up from there late Thursday local time. This means we’ll get to see some of the attractions of SF which we were not going near otherwise. It’s one of those things that just happens and you can’t do anything about it.
We leave tomorrow and land in Los Angeles about just over an hour after we take off. We don’t really miss much, just a lot of sleep. From there, we will drive up to Yosemite National Park until Thursday. When ever I get the chance, I’ll post a picture or two here and maybe share a story, but don’t expect too many updates. We’ll be out in the wilderness with little access to the internet most of the time.
See you in just over 6 weeks!
